Sales Begin in EU, Global Deployment Picks Up Speed

Tokyo, January 31, 2011 --- Hitachi Plant Technologies, Ltd. (President and Representative Director: Toshiaki Higashihara) has earned CE marking certification for its AIRZEUS*1 SDS-U Series oil free screw compressor.
The CE marking is a safety mark that must be displayed on specified products which are distributed and sold in the EU*2. Acquisition of this certification means the product meets the requirements of EU directives and that it can be sold in the EU. Hitachi Plant Technologies has received certification for this product from TÜV Rheinland*3, a neutral and independent certifying body.
Hitachi’s AIRZEUS SDS-U Series is a general-purpose air compressor used to drive air tools (including sprayers, air hammers, and air grinders) in a wide range of industrial fields. The AIRZEUS SDS-U offers significant improvements in the air block (air compression area) structure and is more user-friendly thanks to its color LCD touch panel. It achieves improved low-noise operation through its newly-designed silencer and a new structure for its sound-proofing cover. This compressor has enjoyed strong sales throughout Japan and East Asia since going on sale in January 2009.
Now that the AIRZEUS SDS-U Series has earned the CE marking certification, Hitachi Plant Technologies’ plans to start sales in the EU, and use sales there to gain a foothold in global markets.
