The Spectacle-Shaped Blade Ensures Excellent Agitation.
As the characteristics and diversity of polymers increase, processors of high-viscosity polymers must also be diversified and their performance enhanced. For the production of these polymers, a high-efficiency agitation blade is vital.
Hitachi began manufacturing horizontal biaxial processors for high-viscosity liquids in 1965. Since then, Hitachi has delivered 50 continuous polyester polymerization and other plants. Equipped with a spectacle-shaped agitation blade, these plants are highly regarded for their superior agitation efficiency and for the quality of the liquids processed. Hitachi spectacle-shaped blade polymerizers are used in a range of applications including polycondensation processing (for producing synthetic resins) and solvent degassing (for producing medicines), as well as in gas/liquid reactors. In all these fields, the result has been improved quality and productivity.
Hitachi offers more ; an integrated high-level support system. For example, in basic experiments conducted to study fundamental characteristics such as fluidity, a wide range of data has been collected using simulated liquids. Furthermore, Hitachi is actively suggesting new processes, based on data derived from agitation simulation and sample tests, as well as on knowledge accumulated by Hitachi as a user. Thus Hitachi maintains the comprehensive, high-quality resources that are essential to serving the diversifying and increasingly sophisticated needs of its customers.

Ideal piston-like flow with no reverse mixing
The number of effective complete mixing tanks per spectacle blade is 11/16 for a liquid viscosity of 400 Pa.s. This provides a piston-like flow, eliminating liquid residence - a feature that cannot be offered by a disc blade agitator that has only 9/16.

Greater liquid surface area for faster evaporation speed
A greater liquid surface allows mutual pulling by blades and free descent of liquid, ensuring an evaporation speed almost 30 times that of an upright agitation vessel.

Self-cleaning mechanism ensures complete mixing
Since this agitation blade mechanism has a self-cleaning capability, there is virtually no dead space in the vessel. This ensures completely uniform mixing in the radial direction.

To seal the shaft, a mechanical seal is used that is specially designed for adverse operating conditions. This highly reliable driving unit makes possible the Long-life performance of the polymerizer.
